It can be calming for children. Children usually love Reiki. I know mine do. It is the only request of me in an evening. The length of a session is often shorter than it would be for an adult as a child's attention span and requirement is smaller than that of an adult.

Animals find it reassuring. Animals also respond well to Reiki, they too seem to find it relaxing and soothing. Often they will let you know when they are due a session.

At the end of life, Reiki can be extremely comforting for those facing uncertainty & for those left behind. In such cases Reiki can be a great comfort, helping to promote a sense of peace and acceptance for the dying and their families.

What to expect on your day of treatment.

Prior to treatment you will receive a full consultation. I will ascertain your reason for booking a session and we will work on your concerns Often physical pain is as a result of something more deep rooted in an emotional or even spiritual way. Reiki will ALWAYS treat the route cause of the problem, so do not be surprised if your physical pain takes a few days to resolve post treatment.

The method of receiving Reiki is simple. You will remain fully clothed and lye on the treatment couch. I will gently places my hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on or near the body. There is no massage or manipulation. The whole person is treated rather than specific areas. Sessions can take 45 minutes to an hour-and-a-half, depending on your needs.

Reiki practitioners are not trained in diagnosis and will not predict any specific outcome from treatment. If people are concerned about their symptoms, they should see a doctor.

What do Reiki treatments feel like?

Each person experiences Reiki differently depending on their individual needs at the time.

You may or may not feel sensations during a Reiki Treatment. Benefits reported by recipients include deep relaxation promoting a calm, peaceful sense of well-being on all levels. Some people feel sensations of heat, tingling, or experience seeing colours, whilst others can have an emotional response, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing harmony to be restored.

How much Reiki would I need?

A single session may be sufficient, but it is best for us to discuss your requirements. For instance, if you have long standing emotional or spiritual issues, a series of sessions may be beneficial. In general, if you find that helpful changes are taking place, it is a good idea to continue treatment.
